We compared motor oil prices and filter prices by the same part numbers at both stores, so these are true like-for-like prices. Use the oil viscosity and specification in your owner’s manual; the cheapest jug is only a deal if it meets your engine’s requirement.
Motor oil, filter and fluid prices
Oil prices are for one 5-quart jug. Filter rows pair Mobil 1 with Mobil 1 and each store’s own brand in the common 7317 size.

Full synthetic, blend or high mileage?
- Full synthetic is required by many newer engines, especially those that call for 0W-20 or 0W-16, and usually supports longer change intervals.
- Synthetic blend costs less and suits many older engines that specify 5W-30 or 10W-30.
- High mileage oils add seal conditioners for engines with 75,000 miles or more; they do not replace the specification in your manual.

Recycling used oil
Both stores accept used motor oil at most locations. Advance lists transmission fluid, hydraulic fluid, gear oil and power steering fluid as accepted too, unless prohibited by local law. Bring it in a sealed container and do not mix in antifreeze or solvents.
