Brake Pad Prices: AutoZone vs Advance Auto Parts

Prices checked Nov 2, 2026Updated Nov 2, 2026

PartsMatchup is reader-supported and independent of AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts and every other store we compare. Some store links may earn us a commission at no cost to you; it never changes which part or store we recommend. How we make money · How we compare

Brake pads are matched by a fitment number rather than by brand. We used D2076, a common front pad size that both stores list for the 2018 Toyota Camry, and compared each store’s standard, premium and top-tier ceramic pads in that size. Fitment changes by model year and trim, so always confirm with your VIN or license plate on the store’s site.

Prices are for one axle set (both front wheels). Warranty terms are shown where the store’s page states them.

Standard, premium or top tier?

  • Standard ceramic (Duralast, Carquest Standard): fine for commuting and light loads at the lowest price.
  • Premium ceramic (Duralast Gold, Carquest Professional Platinum): usually include new hardware clips and shims and carry a limited lifetime warranty at both stores. The best value for most daily drivers.
  • Top tier (Duralast Elite, Advics Ultra-Premium): for drivers who want OE-style feel or less dust. Advics is a Toyota supplier brand, and its pads list a 3-year warranty.

Advance also listed PowerStop Z17 ceramic pads with hardware for $44.49, a low price for a pad that includes hardware; PowerStop is excluded from Advance promo codes. For a full pick list, see best brake pads, and for the house-brand matchup, Duralast vs Carquest.

Pads, rotors and the real cost of a brake job

If your rotors are below their minimum thickness or warped, they need replacing too, which can more than double the parts bill. Both stores ran house-brand offers of free pads with two rotors when we checked, which makes a pads-and-rotors job cheaper than buying pads alone plus resurfacing. Our DIY brake pad replacement cost guide and the DIY vs shop calculator show what you save by doing it yourself.
