Basic, SilverStar or LED?
Basic halogen bulbs are the cheapest and usually last the longest. Brighter “performance” halogens like SilverStar Ultra and zXe put more light down the road and look whiter, but they generally trade away some lifespan for that output; check the package for the manufacturer’s life rating. LED replacement bulbs are a different category: make sure any LED bulb is legal for road use in your headlight housing before you buy.
Replace headlight bulbs in pairs
When one halogen bulb burns out, the other is usually close behind, and a new bulb next to an old one looks brighter and whiter. Replacing both keeps the beam even.
